Will and Jada Smith’s daughter gets a record deal with Jay-Z, Debuts first Single!!
Willow Smith, the 9-year-old daughter of Hollywood Power Couple Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, is poised to make her debut as a recording artist after inking a deal with hip-hop mogul Jay-Z’s Roc Nation label.
Willow has made it clear that she’d like to follow the footsteps of her famous parents and brother Jaden
Her first song — an uptempo club banger titled “Whip My Hair” — hit the Interwebs this week, and a video for the single will be shot in Los Angeles later this month.
Jay-Z, who appeared alongside his new protege on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show Thursday (CLICK HERE For AUDIO), says it’s rare to find an artist with such talent and creativity at Willow’s tender age. In fact, Willow’s sing-song vocals already have the pint-sized stylista drawing comparisons to another of Hov’s mohawked signees: “Rude Boy” singer Rihanna.
“We at Roc Nation are excited to work with Willow. She has an energy and enthusiasm about her music that is truly infectious. It’s rare to find an artist with such innate talent and creativity at such a young age. Willow is about to embark on an incredible journey and we look forward to joining her as she grows in all aspects of her career.”
Willow, whose dad Will was the first rapper to win a Grammy award, is ecstatic about carving out a place for herself in the music world.
